چکیده

In the present work we establish a simple relation between the Dirac equation with a scalar and an electromagnetic potentials in a two-dimensional case and a pair of decoupled Vekua equations. In general these Vekua equations are bicomplex. However we show that the whole theory of pseudoanalytic functions without modifications can be applied to these equations under a certain not restrictive condition. As an example we formulate the similarity principle which is the central reason why a pseudoanalytic function and as a consequence a spinor field depending on two space variables share many of the properties of analytic functions. One of the surprising consequences of the established relation with pseudoanalytic functions consists in the following result. Consider the Dirac equation with a scalar potential depending on one variable with fixed energy and mass. In general this equation cannot be solved explicitly even if one looks for wave functions of one variable. Nevertheless for such Dirac equation we obtain an algorithmically simple procedure for constructing in explicit form a complete system of exact solutions (depending on two variables). These solutions generalize the system of powers 1, z, z, . . . in complex analysis and are called formal powers. With their aid any regular solution of the Dirac equation can be represented by its Taylor series in formal powers.

1 3 N ov 2 00 6 Recent developments in applied pseudoanalytic function theory

We present recently obtained results in the theory of pseudoanalytic functions and its applications to elliptic second-order equations. The operator (div p grad +q) with p and q being real valued functions is factorized with the aid of Vekua type operators of a special form and as a consequence the elliptic equation (div p grad +q)u = 0, (1) reduces to a homogeneous Vekua equation describing ge...

On the reduction of the multidimensional Schrödinger equation to a first order equation and its relation to the pseudoanalytic function theory

Given a particular solution of a one-dimensional stationary Schrödinger equation this equation of second order can be reduced to a first order linear ordinary differential equation. This is done with the aid of an auxiliary Riccati differential equation. In the present work we show that the same fact is true in a multidimensional situation also. For simplicity we consider the case of two or thr...

On the Klein-Gordon equation and hyperbolic pseudoanalytic function theory

Elliptic pseudoanalytic function theory was considered independently by Bers and Vekua decades ago. In this paper we develop a hyperbolic analogue of pseudoanalytic function theory using the algebra of hyperbolic numbers. We consider the Klein-Gordon equation with a potential. With the aid of one particular solution we factorize the Klein-Gordon operator in terms of two Vekua-type operators. We...

Electronic Transmission Wave Function of Disordered Graphene by Direct Method and Green's Function Method

We describe how to obtain electronic transport properties of disordered graphene, including the tight binding model and nearest neighbor hopping. We present a new method for computing, electronic transport wave function and Greens function of the disordered Graphene. In this method, based on the small rectangular approximation, break up the potential barriers in to small parts. Then using the f...

New Solutions for the Three-Dimensional Electrical Impedance Equation and its Application to the Electrical Impedance Tomography Theory

—Using a quaternionic reformulation of the threedimensional Electrical Impedance Equation, and a generalization of the Bers generating sets, as well as the Beltrami equation, we introduce a new class of exact solutions for the case when the conductivity is represented by a separable-variables function depending upon three spacial variables. Finally, we discuss the possible contribution of these...
